'Reports on Jarawa women forced to dance highly irresponsible'

The Andaman and Nicobar Islands administration on Wednesday termed as "highly irresponsible" the media reports that said a group of scantily-clad Jarawa tribe women were allegedly forced to dance in front of tourists. While the administration expressed that it was not clear in which year the video clip was recorded. It said it was amply clear that the person alleged to have asked the women to do so was not a policeman.

Kerala has retained the top rank in Niti Aayog's SDG India Index 2020-21, while Bihar has been adjudged as the worst performer, according to a report released on Thursday. The Index for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) evaluates progress of states and union territories on social, economic and environmental parameters. Kerala retained its rank as the top state with a score of 75. Both Himachal Pradesh and Tamil Nadu took the second spot with a score of 74. Bihar, Jharkhand and Assam were the worst performing states in this year's India index.

It was detained by the Indian Coast Guard after an over six-hour chase.
